Medical Core
We have an excellent team made of up well-experienced and qualified personnel to ensure that our patients are well taken care of. Our medical core is made up of doctors, nursing staff, laboratory, and pharmacy.

Doctors
Our doctors are well trained and efficient to meet up to the needs of all our patients. Our doctors include expert Gynaecologists, Paediatricians, Internists, Dentist and General practitioners. The clinic has medical cover 24/7.

Nursing staff
Our nursing staff is made up of young and energetic nurses from prestigious institutions in the country. Some have degrees in nursing while others are State Registered nurses. They are amiable, caring and effective.

Laboratory
We have a well-equipped laboratory, which is staffed by graduates from Buea University and the Catholic University of Central Africa. Our laboratory team is very efficient and rapid in carrying out tests. Time and quality are our priority, and the team makes sure that detailed results are delivered to the doctor or patient in a timely manner.

Radiology
Our Imaging department consists of modern art x-ray units and ultrasound machines. It is operational Monday to Saturday and for all emergencies. With empathic, skilled, and efficient staff, visits to this department are pleasant and quick.

Pharmacy
We have a well-stocked pharmacy that runs 24 hours a day and is open to the public. It is headed by a highly qualified and experienced pharmacist, assisted by pharmacy technicians who are there to provide information to the patient.
Non-medical core
We have an excellent team made of up well experienced and qualified personnel to ensure that our patients are well taken care of. The non-medical core is made up of; the Administration, nutrition, sanitation, and security.

Administration
The administration takes charge of the day to day running of the clinic. It comprises of the Hospital administrator, compliance, billing, communications and reception.

Nutrition
A well equipped kitchen headed by a highly qualified chef to provide patients with the best meals. Our meals are nutritive and well balanced.

Sanitation
Our sanitation team are broken up into two shifts, day and night. This ensures continuous cleaning and maintenance of the premises. Patients appreciate not only the cleanliness but the absence of the clinical smell normally associated with hospitals.

Security
We have a stable and well secured environment with day and night security guards. The guards conduct checks on all those who enter the clinic, using metal detectors and other security equipment.

Meet The Team
Founder (Gynaecologist / Obstetrician)
Ret. Col. / Dr. Ashu Eben Balimba - Founder (Gynaecologist / Obstetrician)
Dr Balimba is a renowned gynaecologist and obstetrician, whose passion for medicine has taken him through a long and accomplished journey. He obtained a Bachelor degree in science from the university of Ibadan Nigeria, where he also obtained his master’s degree. He went on to further his studies at the University of London and Manchester in England specialising in gynaecology and obstetrics where he obtained an MRCOG. After his MRCOG degree, he undertook a postgraduate diploma course in gynaecological infertility at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University in Israel. Before his retirement as a Colonel from the Cameroon army, Dr. Balimba held the posts of Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Yaoundé Military Hospital; and later became the Director of the said hospital. He also served as special adviser (on medical issues) to the Minister of Defence before retirement. He served for two years as vice president of the PANAFRICAN MILITARY MEDICAL CONGRES and is an Honourable Member of the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States.
By incorporating many years of medical experience from working with both the public and private health
care sectors, Dr. Balimba sought to address the needs of his numerous patients by creating a private clinic. Dr. Balimba is not simply the founder of Polyclinique du Palais, but his vision of providing unrivalled quality medical care, intended to be a benchmark to others is what continues to motivate the staff of the clinic.

Hospital Director
Patricia Balimba (MBA)
Patricia Balimba is an electrical engineer, who graduated from the University of Alabama Huntsville, USA. After working as a project manager for several years at both HYDRAC Cameroon and AES Sonel, she decided to use her skills to help realize her father’s dreams for the clinic.
Patricia obtained her MBA from the top ranking business school in Africa, the University of Stellenbosch business school, South Africa. Equipped with additional knowledge, passion, drive, and a great team – she runs Polyclinique du Palais with proficiency and foresight in order to achieve its vision and values.


Technical Director
Dr. Marie Mpoke Balimba Njabon
Dr. Njabon, a dedicated medical professional, holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Ghana Medical School, alongside a Specialist degree in Paediatrics from the University of Yaounde I, Cameroon. Complementing her expertise, she earned a graduate diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, and a degree in Paediatric Nutrition from Boston University School of Medicine. Notably, she established a neonatal unit at Limbe Regional Hospital, contributing significantly to healthcare infrastructure. Dr. Njabon's impact extends to academia as a lecturer at the University of Buea, where she shares her wealth of knowledge. With over fifteen years of experience, including roles such as a Paediatric HIV specialist for KIDSS at CRS (Catholic Relief Services), she skillfully oversees the medical operations at Polyclinique du Palais.

Director of Maintenance and Restoration
Julie Balimba
Julie holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and pursued postgraduate studies in Education at Ahmadou Bello University, Nigeria. She began her career as a teacher in various colleges under the Ministry of Secondary Education, eventually advancing to the role of Vice Principal. Transitioning to the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, Julie served as a Technical Advisor, later ascending to Inspector General of Service and then Inspector General of Training. Throughout her public service, she received several prestigious awards and medals.
Following retirement, Julie devoted her time to supporting her husband's clinic venture. Leveraging her passion for fashion and keen eye for design, she oversees the clinic's aesthetics and maintenance while leading the nutrition department. Her exceptional work ethic and talent in interior design ensure Polyclinique du Palais maintains its impeccable appearance and functionality.

Director of Logistics and Procurement
Akoacha William
William studied at Nursing and Midwifery school in Bamenda, then went on to obtain a Higher National Diploma in Nursing, making him a State Registered Nurse. He later joined the Cameroon Defence Force, where he grew to the position of “Adjudan Chef”. While in the army, William received several awards, namely: “Public Force” medal and “Medal of Valour”. He also served as the General Supervisor at the
maternity unit of the Yaoundé Military Hospital where he was trained as a counsellor in HIV by “Doctors Without Borders”.
After retirement, William joined his former boss, and long-time comrade Dr. Balimba, in establishing his vision for a clinic. William or Pa Willy as he is most fondly called, is a pillar in Polyclinique du Palais. He is in charge of all purchases, running of the Operating block, supervision of pharmacy technicians, maintenance of clinic infrastructure, and occasionally, assists in medical acts such as deliveries.

Human resources director
Amah Samuel Ewah
Samuel obtained his degree in Human Resources from the Universito of Yaounde II SOA. Before he joined the team at Polyclinique du Palais, he worked as the Director of Human Resources at Drimp Foundation. Since 2015 the clinic has been privileged to have Samuel join the team. His ability to multitask is noteworthy. Not only is he the head of Human Resources, but he handles Compliance, Contracts and debt recovery as well. He is a fervent annual participant of the Global Leadership Summit, and the training he receives from there has transformed him from a manager to an effective leader.

Accountant
Kari Epse Dinga Charlotte
Charlotte is the head of the financial department. The clinic has benefited from her numerous talents since 2016. During this time, she obtained a degree in accounting from the university of Bamenda, and a certificate in financial reporting from UPGRADERS in Douala. Prior to joining the staff at Polycliinique du Palais, she worked as a storekeeper with NUMERO UNO for period of 12 months.
Charlotte is a woman of integrity, diligence, and hard work. She has a unique compassion for the financial needs of patients, which is a very rare trait amongst accountants. As she consistently strives to find balance between her role as head of the clinic’s financial department, and advocate for patients financial needs, she has become a beloved team member to all sides, seamlessly bridging the gap.

Laboratory Supervisor
Soho Bachamen Linda
Linda obtained her degree from the Catholic University of Central Africa in Yaoundé and has worked at Polyclinique du Palais since 2015. She manages a team of 4 laboratory assistants, is in charge of acquiring reagents, controlling the validity of the clinics laboratory tests, and maintenance and acquisition of laboratory equipments.
Linda is gifted in her field and has a reputation for being able to obtain a blood sample from the most challenging of veins with a single almost pain-free prick. She runs her department with diligence and accountability, and both her subordinates and patients never fail to sing her praises.

Nursing supervisor
Kenmeugne Nguepsi Edith
Edith is the nursing supervisor at Polyclinique du Palais, and has a license in both nursing and geriatrics. She has numerous other certifications, as she and her team undergo regular training inhouse, and externally at public hospitals and other organizations such as the Red Cross. She has experienced both French and English training throughout her educational journey, leaving her perfectly bilingual; a trait highly beneficial and greatly appreciated by both the staff and patients. She began her career at a health center in Bertoua before joining the Polyclinique du Palais
team in 2020. Her talents and skills quickly propelled her to leadership barely a year
after she joined. She leads a team of over 15 nurses, midwives and interns.

Pharmacy Supervisor
Echobei Mispa Edomekwei
Mispa is a jewel of Polyclinique du Palais. She makes all patients feel at home, recalls all that concerns them and even calls to check up on them from time to time.
Her primary responsibility is supervising the pharmacy technicians, but she is also works as the Founders personal medical secretary, supervises the vital signs team, and is incharge of all statistics in the clinic. Furthermore, her talents did not go unnoticed by the medical district of Djoungolo who Polyclinique du Palais reports to.
She was appointed the assistant chief of the area for the hospitals located in Nlongkak, under the Djoungolo district.

Cleaning supervisor
Mume Jaqueline
Jaqueline was born in Limbé where she began her studies and subsequently decided to settle in Yaoundé. She has worked at Polyclinique du Palais as a maintenance officer since 2015. She has over 9 years of experience in housekeeping and sanitation. As department head, she leads a group of 06 collaborators. Together, they don’t only keep the clinic germ-free, but manage maintain a disinfected and sterile environment that smells as fresh as inviting as your home.
